Kingfall is a handwritten medieval typeface sketched with a flat calligraphic nib. Its design is built on the contrast between small condensed lowercase letters and large decorative uppercase letters that can also function as initials. The shape of the letters has numerous rough bends and hard edges, as if the royal blacksmith took a strip of iron and shaped it with a hammer. At the same time, the direction of strokes avoids geometric rectilinearity, thereby adding a human touch to the letterforms. The font family is represented by optical sizes: the high-contrast “Blessed” for headlines and the medium-contrast “Dark” for small text sizes. The typeface was designed by Michael Rafailyk in 2024.

Initials: Kingfall Initials is a font family style that includes decorative uppercase letters – Initials.

Optical Size: The typeface is presented in two optical sizes: Aerial, Light, Blessed, Engraved, Initials (high contrast, more elegant, for large-size text) and Kingfall Dark (medium contrast, rough, for small-size text).

Stylistic Set 2 “Decorations”: The font contains 20 decorative elements for book chapter layout. They can be applied in two ways:
1. Open the Glyphs panel in the graphic editor and manually select a decorative element.
2. Activate Stylistic Set 2 and type the keyword from :decoration1: to :decoration20: in the text.

Stylistic Set 1 “Arrows”: Left <- Right ->; Up <| Down |> Left Right <-> Up Down <|> North West <\ North East /> South East \> South West

Stylistic Set 3 “Classic Y”: The letter “Y” (including diacritical versions) is replaced with a more familiar letterform.

Stylistic Set 4 “Descended epsilon”: The Greek lowercase epsilon is replaced with a more cursive version featuring a longer descending stroke.

Stylistic Set 5 “Long tail tse shcha”: The Cyrillic letters “ц” and “щ” gain elongated tails that curve horizontally under the letter.

Stylistic Set 6 “Alternate be”: The form of the Cyrillic letter “б” is replaced from the Bulgarian form to the Eastern European variant.
