The story of this typeface began in 2008, when the famous Ukrainian calligrapher Vasyl Yakovych Chebanyk made his own Cyrillic to the famous Zapfino by Hermann Zapf. According to opinion of many colleagues, it was an independent expressive calligraphic cursive with a recognizable characteristic of Vasyl Yakovych’s Ukrainian alphabet. In 2017 Victor Kharik digitized this work and consulted with the author deprived the font of the rudiments of the prototype (still it was made as a Cyrillic localization), added a new Latin alphabet and everything necessary for a full-fledged font family, including three more font styles. With the kind assistance of Bohdan Hdal and Sergiy Tkachenko, a full-fledged open-type alternatives was generated.
